Olympic / Standard Distance Triathlons: Distances

  • Swim - 1.5km
  • Bike - 40km
  • Run - 10km
Olympic Distance Triathlons are also known as Standard Distance Triathlons and comprise: a 1500m swim, a 40km bike and a 10km run. They generally always take place outdoors and as such the season in the UK tends to be when the water is warm enough for safe outdoor swimming - from mid-spring to mid-autumn.

Olympic / Standard Distance Triathlon events are a real test, and your training should work on all aspects of the race including transitions, as well as combination or "Bric" training sessions.
