Organiser's Description
The Bayou City Classic 10K, Texas’ oldest 10K race, will take place this March. The 10K starts at 8AM (Hand-Cycle/Pushrim start is 7:50AM), and the 5K at 8:20AM (Hand-Cycle/Pushrim start is 8:15AM).
The in-person event is back at its usual location in the heart of downtown Houston (Hermann Square adjacent to City Hall). A virtual option is offered for those who wish to participate with the same purpose and enthusiasm from afar. This is a family-friendly, all-inclusive event. We invite EVERYONE to participate. Wheelchair/Pushrim participants are welcomed and encouraged.
Proceeds from the Bayou City Classic are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to improve our city parks and preserve our trees. This non-profit event is organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA), an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote running as a competitive sport and a healthful exercise. The race has donated over $250,000 for the Parks over the previous eight years!
