Organiser's Description
The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is one of the largest multi-event races in the country. The excitement that surrounds Dallas City Hall Plaza grows each year as more runners and new generations of families turn out to experience the fun, family-friendly atmosphere that is the backdrop for the race and walk.
The Trot consists of both certified 5K and 8-mile races for serious runners. The 5K is also the choice course for new runners, families with young kids/strollers, grandparents, and anyone looking to take their time and enjoy the morning with friends and family.
All proceeds from the The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot support community programs by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas like the YMCA After School program. Thanks to the support of participants and sponsors, over $300,000 in scholarships are awarded so Dallas’s children have a safe, educational, and fun place to be after the school day is done.
For over 50 years the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot has been THE thing to do Thanksgiving morning. It’s Dallas’s way to begin Thanksgiving Day!
