Only Fools Run - Aprils Foosl Day -5K, 10K, 15K and Half Marathon

 
At High Tides, we love a reason to have a costume contest, and what could be better than dressing up for April fools Day? Dress to impress and you could be a winner!

Signing up for one of our run/walk events won’t break the bank. Our low-cost races are cozy and intimate, where you have a chance to get to know your fellow runner and your race director if you like. If you don’t want to chat or make a new friend but prefer to put in your earbuds and get lost in the ocean breeze, that is totally fine as well.
We will take care of you. Let us worry about the water and fuel you need to finish your distance so you can do you. You decide what feels right for you that day. 
You have the flexibility to sign up for any of at least four different distances at every one of our friendly gatherings. No hassle, and no penalty fee involved if you want to change distances on race day. Small events mean not having to get to the event hours before the start or sitting in a line of cars forever to get out of the parking lot.
High Tide Runs are a project of Mercury Events LLC. Mercury Events organizes larger events in throughout the Southwest United States.

We will track you and let you know when you are close to qualifying for the 10 events and 15-event specials. Your job is to work on your fitness and enjoy the ride, leave the spreadsheets to us.
This is an open course.  There may be other pedestrians, runners, or cyclists on the beach path with you, please be courteous to them and do not spread out wide so that others can not get by you.
Running/walking with a stroller is encouraged but unfortunately, pets are not allowed. We have a 3:15 time limit for the half marathon.  If more time is needed, please email us at [email protected] for an early start. We can offer a 6:30 am and 7 am start to those who request it in advance. 
This is a small informal event.  Everyone will get a finishers medal that notes what distance you completed.  This is a smaller race that emphasizes the fun and community aspects of running, walking, and racing. We look forward to seeing you out there! 
Results and photos will be posted here by the evening of the race day.  
Photos will be tagged and searchable by bib number so please wear your bib on your front in a way that it will be captured by our photographers.

Parking -  There are meters on the street, they are free until 9 am. Please don’t add a ticket to the cost of your race. Make sure that after 9 AM your meter is paid quarterly, or credit cards.  Also – check the signs to make sure you are not parked on a street-sweeping block. Street sweeping goes from 7 am to 9 am and comes with a nasty ticket. The lot at the beach, adjacent to the start/finish, is a pay lot. You can pay at the entrance booth or if no one is there, then pay at the machines. The prices vary throughout the year, typically $8-12. We are not responsible for keeping up to date on any price increases that Santa Monica initiates.
