Plainfield Salute the Troops 5K and Fun Run

Run for fun, run to challenge yourself, or run in honor of a veteran. This fun race is hosted by Plainfield Recreation to honor and support our military troops and veterans. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the local VFW, American Legion, and Veterans Coffeehouse. Beginning at 10:00am our 5k will start at Shepard Hill Elementary School. Runners will follow the well paved walking path towards Plainfield High School and will then loop back to run through the rural neighborhood of Shepard Hill before crossing the finish line right where you started in the front of Shepard Hill Elementary School. The course is a mix of downhill and uphill running and is completely on blacktop. At 11:30am our Fun Run will take place and will follow a similar but abbreviated version of the 5k race. Both races are intended for all abilities and skill levels. Following the Fun Run food and family fun entertainment will be available until 1pm.
