Tryon Half Marathon

The Tryon Half Marathon is a one-of-a-kind, double loop partly paved and partly gravel cross country race alongside a river through beautiful horse country.  The course is mainly flat with some sloping hills.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant spirit of this wonderful mountain community as you pass locals, enthusiastic volunteers and fellow runners along your journey and bask in the warmth of knowing that you are helping to serve neighbors in need in Polk County, as the race proceeds benefit Outreachs food pantry.
After conquering the course, a delightful surprise awaits at the finish line – an indulgent breakfast spread that will be sure to satisfy your post-run cravings.  Breakfast casseroles made by local volunteers, baskets of bagels, muffins, fruit and other delicacies will be sure to replenish your energy and reward your accomplishments.  
Race packets may be picked up Friday, November 17, from 4:30-6:30pm or on race day from 6:30am-7:30am at the cabin located in Harmon Field.  Same day registration will be $80 for the half marathon and $35 for the 5K.  Please note all packets must be picked up in person.
Our course will be open from 8:00 am until 11:30 am. Please be sure you can complete the race in the 3.5 hour time limit. 
Race shirts are unisex sizing. The shirts will be ordered Friday, October 20th.  Please register by Thursday October 19th to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Race shirts can be exchanged for a different size, or picked up after the race provided there are any additional available.  If you do not want a shirt, please choose that option during registration. 
All half marathon finishers will receive a commemorative Finishers Medal.  The Awards Ceremony for both the half marathon and 5K will begin at 11:00AM near the picnic shelter.  Awards will go to top Overall Male Female, Masters Male Female. Age Groups Awards will go to top places for Male Female.
