Organiser's Description
Inaugural Half MarathonMedals
Wolfpack Multisport is hosting a 3.17 mile and half marathon running event to honor Wayne A. Burlison. The race has a scheduled start time of 10:00 am. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be contributed to the Wayne A. Burlison Memorial Scholarship, established in 2014 by Wayne’s wife and son. It is supported by Albion School employees, various musical groups that Wayne was involved in and family and friends.
The race path takes the runners into the Mt. Albion Cemetery, with rolling terrain and beautiful scenery. The historic Mt. Albion Cemetery is a rural cemetery established in the 1840s on a glacial drumlin (landforms composed primarily of glacial till). In 1976 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. As you run, you will pass Wayne's site, energetic volunteers to cheer you on, and an amply supplied water station.
Half Marathon course closure is 1PM. There is a participant cap so sign up early. Course details will be posted in early December.
If you are not up for a run, we would still love to have you join us for the walk on our 3.17 mile course.
Come join us and break up the cabin fever we all get during the long winter months and let's have some fun!
