Experience the thrill of this challenging mountain trail run, featuring a scenic 21km counter-clockwise loop around the breathtaking Mt. Gardner. The event kicks off at 9 am, starting and finishing near the picturesque ferry dock in Snug Cove.
Whether you’re an individual runner or prefer the camaraderie of a relay team of three, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while supporting the Bowen Island Trail Society and other local causes. Pre-race check-in begins at 8 am, so be sure to arrive early, especially if you’re traveling from off the island via the 8 am ferry from Horseshoe Bay. Enjoy well-stocked aid stations, post-race snacks, drinks, and exciting prizes at the finish line. Don’t forget to bring your reusable cup to help reduce environmental impact! The eleventh annual Handloggers Half Marathon and Relay is on Saturday, August 30 2025. This mountain trail run is a challenging 21km counter clockwise loop around Mt. Gardner. To get an idea of our beautiful course - check out our 2017 event video!The race will be a single start event with chip timing. The run begins at 9 am and starts/finishes near the ferry dock in Snug Cove, Bowen Island.Pre-race check in begins at 8am on event day. Runners coming from off island should plan to take the 8am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to ensure adequate time to fill out the waiver form and pick up race numbers.This run can be completed individually or as a relay in a team of three, with handoffs at each of the aid stations. Be sure to check your preferred option when you register.There will be drinks, snacks and great prizes available at the finish line, as well as three aid stations on the course. Please note that Handloggers encourages you to bring your own re-useable cup for use at aid stations and finish line to reduce impact.The Handloggers Half Marathon raises funds in support of Bowen Island Trail Society and other worthy causes which benefit members of the Bowen Island community.Handloggers Half event has sold out early! please contact us (email) by August 25 to be added to the waitlist for a transfer if you want to run or to let us know if you wish to transfer your registration to the waitlist if you are not planning to run.
