Every year, Run for Recovery brings people together to support those facing addiction and mental health struggles – in a powerful act of community, connection, and compassion. This year, we’re raising funds for David’s Place (through the Island Crises Care Society), a recovery program offering up to 18 months of support for individuals in need. Your run helps provide stable housing, nutritious meals, mental health resources, and a therapeutic community to those who need it most. We’re also collecting personal care items (including shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc.) for those coming through EHN Edgewood Nanaimo who need them. Whether you run, walk, sponsor, donate, or just cheer us on, you’re helping to create real change and achieve our fundraising goal! Register today!
MORE ABOUT ISLAND CRISIS CARE SOCIETY Island Crisis Care Society (ICCS) is a non-profit organization that provides housing, support services, and programs for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use issues in Nanaimo and the Oceanside region. With a trauma-informed approach, ICCS helps clients rebuild trust, regain stability, and work toward long-term independence. By offering a continuum of care, including emergency shelters and supportive housing, ICCS empowers individuals to overcome challenges and create lasting change in their lives.

David’s Place Supportive Recovery Program is a crucial part of Nanaimo’s response to the growing need for compassionate, accessible addiction recovery services. Open to both men and women, the program offers six recovery beds in a supportive, home-like environment where clients can stay for up to 18 months with no financial barrier to access. Each resident receives individualized care, including counselling, life skills development, and community engagement, all designed to promote healing, stability, and long-term recovery.
