New for 2025, the festival will also include small boat races on Saturday, ensuring even more opportunities to participate. With free admission for spectators, attendees can enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with artisan exhibits, delicious food, a beach-side bar, a dedicated children’s area, and non-stop racing action. The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival returns June 20-22, 2025! Participants will have the opportunity to compete at all skill levels, from rookies to world champions, on the waters of Mooney's Bay for a weekend of racing and fun!The multi-day festival offers spectators free admission for a variety of artisans, exhibitors, delicious culinary treats, beach-side bar, children’s area and non-stop racing in community, corporate and sport divisions.Teams will compete in two 500m races in various Challenge Cup divisions on Saturday, June 21. Top teams will advance to Sunday, June 22 for a 100m, 200m and 500m Grand Final. NEW in 2025! Small boat races available on Saturday (using standard boats). Limited spots available.As a member of the DBC Race Series in the Central Region, DBC crews can use our event as a qualifier while competing for the honour of being crowned the 2025 Sue Holloway Cup Champions!
Individual registration is also available for anyone new to the sport or new to the area and looking to join a team. The festival is looking forward to welcoming new and returning teams to the Nation’s Capital!
