Get ready for an exhilarating experience at the annual BackRoads run to Port Stanley Beach on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025! This electrifying event will take place in Central Elgin, Elgin, and offers a fantastic opportunity for runners of all levels to test their endurance with distance options ranging from 3.5km to 33.6km. The popular route follows Colonel Talbot/Sunset Drive, leading participants straight to the stunning Port Stanley beach, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the scenery!
This year, we anticipate a lively crowd, building on last year's impressive turnout of 224 runners, with a cap of 250 participants. Enjoy the support of our amazing volunteers, who will be stationed along the route with essential refreshments and bag drops. Plus, fuel up at our Maurten nutrition aid station at the 11.7km mark and try on On shoes at the 7.5km mark for a unique experience! Remember to stay for lunch at GT's Patio and take advantage of our staggered start times to ensure everyone finishes by 10:45 am. Best of all, this event is FREE and open to all, with an optional donation to support Good Neighbours Canada. Don't miss

Our annual and always ELECTRIC BackRoads run to Port Stanley Beach is approaching on Saturday, August 23rd. This is a fun social run with distance options for everyone, ranging from 3.5km to 33.6km, supported by water/fuelling stations and bag drops from our amazing volunteers!
Our classic Port Stanley route is the same as previous years, following Colonel Talbot/Sunset Drive straight into Port Stanley, taking a right at the lift bridge and over to the beach!! 🏖 Stick around afterwards for lunch on GT's Patio!
We have staggered start times provided through registration based on your desired pace and start location. Our goal is to have everyone finish at 10:45am. This run is FREE and open to ALL runners in our community! There is an optional donation this year, as BackRoads is proud to be supporting Good Neighbours Canada - if you can, please consider donating.Our friends from Maurten nutrition will have a fully stocked aid station at 11.7km from the finish (Parkside High School location) for all of your fuelling needs!Our friends from On will have shoes to try on with 7.5km to go (Shaw's Ice Cream location)! We will have a MEMORABLE finish line archway that you won't want to miss, and everyone that wears a pair of On shoes will receive a complimentary beverage from them at GT's!Last year, we had 224 runners!
