Join us for the uplifting Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund Run Around the Square on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the picturesque town of Goderich, Huron. This exciting walk/run fundraiser honors the memory of fallen heroes from police, fire, paramedic, and military services while raising funds for life-saving defibrillators. As we celebrate our 18th year of this beloved event, we are proud to share that the Fund has donated 201 defibrillators, saving lives and making a positive impact in our community.
The festivities kick off with a warm-up at 8:15 AM, leading into the kid's race at 8:30 AM, where children can enjoy a fun lap around the square – all for free and without the need for registration! Every young participant will receive a medal, making it a memorable day for families. Additionally, we encourage everyone to fundraise for this great cause, with special incentives for those who raise over $150. Organiser's Description
Walk/Run fundraiser for life saving defibrillators in the name of fallen police, fire, paramedic, and military. The Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund is a fund set up in memory of Dave Mounsey, an OPP Officer, who lost his life in the line of duty. This fund raises money that goes directly towards the purchase of defibrillators. In 2024, 27 defibrillators were donated throughout the year, reaching a total of 201. 7 lives have been confirmed saved by the Fund's donations; and so many women and men remembered, we look forward to our 2025 year which will be our 18th year of The Run Around The Square.If your child would like to take part in the run/walk, there is no fee, and no need to register. THE YMCA sponsors the run for the kids, and will have a table on the square before the kid’s run informing the kids about the race. There will be a brief warm-up at 08:15h and the kid’s race will take place at 08:30h, completing one lap of the square. Medals will be given to all participants in the kid’s race.
Anyone who would like to fundraise for the Run Around the Square is encouraged to do so. This can be done on Race Roster. Any registrant who raises $150.00 or more towrds the run will receive a complimentary DMMF blanket.
