Organiser's Description

Celebrate Earth Day with a trail run through the Seal Bay Nature Park, located in the Comox Valley. Our grassroots event will feature a live DJ, prizes, post-run pancakes and a well-marked course through the gorgeous Seal Bay Nature Park. Plenty of high-fives and good vibes all day!We respectfully acknowledge that the land we gather on is on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.CAUSE
We will be raising funds for Project Watershed, a local Comox Valley charity. Funds raised through our event will focus on the Kus-Kus-Sum Project. As part of our Estuary Stewardship, Project Watershed has committed to the restoration of the Field Sawmill site in partnership with the K’ómoks First Nation and City of Courtenay.More information on the project is here: https://projectwatershed.ca/2020/01/27/kus-kus-sum/ZERO WASTE
Our goal is to make this event zero-waste, meaning that there is absolutely nothing that goes to the landfill. We will make the commitment to not bring any waste that must go to the landfill to this event and will have our Green Team on site for recycling of waste created.Races create a huge amount of waste and we are trying to eliminate all waste that goes to the landfill. Why not do this on a race that celebrates Earth Day :)RACE DAY INFORMATION / SCHEDULE
