On Saturday, June 6th, 2026, Focus Africa, in conjunction with the Running Room will host the Focus Africa Run for Aids at St. Vital Park. The event will consist of a 5K Run and a 3/5K Walk. We are excited about this event and the effect it will continue to have on our community and beyond! For more information on Focus Africa, visit www.focusafrica.org.Net proceeds from the event will support Beacon of Hope (BOH) in Kajiado, Kenya. BOH is a multi-use facility/medical centre that provides HIV/AIDS-affected women and children with medical care, economic empowerment, education, and community-based care. Currently, Beacon of Hope programs are expanding to include grandmothers, youth, and the training of interns, as well as reaching out into neighbouring communities. We extend this invitation to individuals, families, friends, and the Manitoba community at large. Participant registration fees for the Run/Walk will go entirely to support Mjali grandmothers' program at Beacon of Hope. Donations will go to support the Run event, with any excess going to Mjali grandmothers’ program. Donations can be made through ICMS here.
