Get ready for an exhilarating day of fun and fitness at the "Hill of a Race" (HOAR) on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the stunning Rabbit Hill Snow Resort in Edmonton, Alberta! This unique event invites participants of all skill levels to challenge themselves on the groomed ski slopes, making it a thrilling experience for snow runners, walkers, crawlers, and sliders alike.
There are three exciting race options: kick off the day with the "All Day Buffet" (6 hours) starting at 9:00 AM, where you can complete as many laps as possible on the 2.5 km course; tackle the "A la Carte" (10 km) with four laps at noon; or enjoy "The Snack" (5 km) with two laps at 1 PM. Each participant will receive a handcrafted medal, and all racers will also get a voucher for a one-day lift ticket for the 2025/2026 ski season at Rabbit Hill! Plus, gift certificates are available for that special someone.

"Hill of a Race" (HOAR) is an event unlike anything seen in the Edmonton area. When's the last time you've powered your way up a groomed ski run in your runners? It will be held on the groomed slopes of the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort. And no, there will not be any skiers or snowboarders on the hill with you. You will have it all to yourself. It will be a challenging and exciting time for all levels of snow runners, walkers, crawlers and sliders. You will be making your way up and down groomed ski runs so extra traction under your runners may be required. Your call. Walking poles are permitted. As with all the races in the River's Edge Running Series, this event raises much needed funds for Olive Tree Projects which operates a maternity centre in Jacmel, Haiti. Olive Tree Projects was founded in 2008 by Sarah Wallace who worked for many years at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort while a student. All proceeds from this event will go to this wonderful charity.
