Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival

The Inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival is a one day outdoor event designed to get people outside for some healthy exercise and family fun activities in winter.The event will be held on Sunday February 1st 2026 at Eganridge Resort Fenelon Falls, Ontario.The event is presented by Snowshoe Canada and will include a series of run/walk events in the morning on the resort golf course followed by some family fun activities in the afternoon. These events are open to all aged and abilities.Weather permitting the golf course will be covered with snow and the trail will be groomed in advance.The running events will have two options. Snowshoe running and trail shoe running.These events are open to all comers but there is a registration fee to participate.The snowshoe running event will be the national championship for Snowshoe Canada and will be part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series.There will be three distance options. A 1k run/walk for kids and families, short course one loop of approximately 5k and a long course two loop of approximately 10k. All participants will receive a finisher medal, swag item and a hot lunch in the resort main lodge.Prize money and plaques will be presented to the overall winners.Overall winners will get their name engraved on the Snowshoe Canada Champions Trophy.Medals will be presented to age group winners.In the afternoon there will be some family fun activities such as tobagganing, snowmobile rides, ice carvers, bonfire marsh mellow roasting and more. There will also be some live music playing in the downstairs bar in afternoon.The family fun activities are free and open to everyone but a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes is appreciated, Minimum donation is $5.00 and van be made online.
