Get ready for an exciting day of community spirit and outdoor fun at the Third Annual Rosy Rhubarb Walk/Run, taking place on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, in the picturesque location of Southwold, Elgin. This vibrant event offers something for everyone, featuring a 5 KM Run/Walk and a 10 KM Run for the more adventurous participants. Kids aged 12 and under can also join in the fun with a delightful 1 KM Fun Run! Every participant will be awarded a finisher medal, making this a memorable experience for all.
The event kicks off bright and early, with registration and bib pick-up from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. After a warm-up and welcome ceremony, the races begin with the 10 KM runners starting at 9:00 AM, followed by the 5 KM runners and walkers at 9:10 AM. The Kids Run will commence around 10:15 AM, ensuring that the day is packed with excitement. The Optimist Club of Fingal - Shedden and District is hosting their Third Annual Rosy Rhubarb Walk and/or Run on Sunday June 14th, 2026, in celebration and support of events in our community. You can register for the 5 KM Run or Walk or you can register for the 10km run. Kids 12 and under can register for the 1km Fun Run!! Finisher medals for all participants.RACE MAP: to be updated closer to the race date. As there is current construction on Union road the race will be a road / trail race more details to come closer to the event .
Parking : Please park at the soccer fields located at 9210 Union road Shedden . It’s imperative that those participating in the 5km run or walk, and the 10km run have completed their registration and check in by 8:30am as roads will start to close. Registration for the kids 1km fun run will begin around PLEASE REMEMBER THAT UNION ROAD WILL BE CLOSED (FROM THE SOUTH) FROM 8:45 UNTIL 11:00 (OR UNTIL THE LAST RUNNER/WALKER CROSSES THE FINISH LINE). THE SECONDARY ROAD CLOSURE IS FROM TALBOT LINE (HIGHWAY 3) AT UNION ROAD HEADING SOUTH. ANY PARTICIPANT WHO IS DELAYED IN ARRIVING FOR ANY RACE DISTANCE IS ASKED TO ENTER VIA HIGHWAY 3 AT THE KEYSTONE COMPLEX AND PARK AT THE VERY BACK BY THE BARNS AND THEN WALK THE TRAIL TO THE START LINE.
