Get ready for an exhilarating day of camaraderie and competition at the Saskatoon Ekiden, taking place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the beautiful city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan! This exciting three-person relay race invites you to team up with friends and tackle the scenic Meewasin Trail System. With race distances of 10.0 km, 10.0 km, and 5.3 km, there’s an opportunity for every runner to shine.
The relay kicks off at 10:00 a.m. from the north end of Gabriel Dumont Park, where teams are encouraged to embrace the spirit of fun and creativity—costumes are highly encouraged! Participants will enjoy a well-organized course that features stunning river views and water stations to keep you refreshed. Although this is a green event with no T-shirts or medals, there will be delicious snacks, refreshments, and coffee to keep everyone energized. Plus, winning teams will walk away with gift certificate prizes! Gather your running buddies, register for just $45 per team, and get ready for a day filled with excitement and community spirit at the Saskatoon Ekiden!

Please note that this event has been cancelled due to lack of registrations. All persons registered will receive a full refund.Presented by the Saskatoon Road Runners Association. It's our version of the Ekiden Relay. Sunday, August 17, starting at the north end of Gabriel Dumont Park (off Saskatchewan Crescent). A three person relay along the Meewasin Trail System in Saskatoon.
Grab two of your running buddies and make your team of three. Costumes are encouraged! Entry Fee is $15.00 per runner making the team entry $45.00 (Plus additional processing fees and taxes). SRRA members receive a $5.00 discount with the members promotion code.This is a green no-frills event. To keep costs and our impact on the environment low, there will be no T-shirts or medals offered for this event.No refunds.The event consists of three relay legs. 10.0 km, 10.0 km, and 5.3 kmTo register a team: Enter each runner individually and use the team designation (enter your team name) to identify your team.The relay starts at 10:00 a.m. just south of the washroom building in Gabriel Dumont Park.The First 10 km leg runs south from the Gabriel Dumont Park washroom area along the Meewasin Trail System to the Gordie Howe Bridge Pedway. Runners will cross the river to a water station and then continue north along the Meewasin Trail to the turnaround located near the Riversdale Pool near the north end of the Water Treatment Plant. Runners will return via the same route.The Second 10 km leg runs south from the Gabriel Dumont Park washroom area along the Meewasin Trail System to the Gordie Howe Bridge Pedway. Runners will cross the river to the water station and then continue west along the Circle Drive Trail to the turnaround point near Schuyler Street. Runners return via the same route.The 5.3 km leg runs south from the Gabriel Dumont Park washroom area along the Meewasin Trail System to the Gordie Howe Bridge pedway. Runners will cross the river and turn around at the water station. Runners return via the same route.Snacks, refreshments, and coffee provided. Gift Certificate prizes for winning teams.
