Organiser's Description
The SOO 200 celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area. Known for the tough land of the Canadian shield, and stunning coastal landscapes, the SOO 200 will challenge all athletes. This is also Eastern Canada's only 200-miler, and a sister event of The Divide 200. The course is a combination of single track, double track, dirt road, cross-country, and even a bit of bushwhacking and coastal running. There will be some short sections of route-finding, even though it is a prescribed course; the terrain can just be really gnarly out there.Checkpoints are every 20 to 40km apart, depending on the section of the race. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach for both route-finding and safety.Stay tuned for more announcements.
