Get ready to lace up your running shoes for an exhilarating evening at the Longest Day Ekiden Relay Race on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 7 PM in beautiful Toronto! This sold-out event promises to be a fantastic celebration of teamwork and endurance as participants tackle a marathon distance in a unique relay format. Each team of six will share the distance, with two runners covering 10K, three runners handling 5K, and one runner completing a 7.2K leg, all while passing the ceremonial Tasuki sash that symbolizes camaraderie and spirit.
The atmosphere will be electric as teams race through Tommy Thompson Park, competing not only for glory but also for fantastic prizes, including HOKA shoes for the entire team in a random draw! With additional awards for the top women's and mixed teams, along with the chance to connect with Maurten and other sponsors on-site, this event promises to be a highlight of the summer. Plus, participants will be supporting a worthy cause, with proceeds benefiting HOPES RISE, a charity dedicated to empowering children through running and leadership programs. We're looking forward to having you join us on Tuesday June 17 2025 at 7 pmfor The Runners Shop "Longest Day" Ekiden Relay RaceREGISTRATION PROCESSIt's time to register your team members!The deadline for having this done is Thursday June 12th at noon. IMPORTANT!! CAPTAINS YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED. DO NOT REGISTER YOURSELF AGAIN! The link is to register your other team members. CAPTAINS. By default you have been assigned a leg. Before you do anything else go to your race roster dashboard and select the proper leg for yourself.1. Go to your race roster dashboard. Find the Ekiden Relay. Click on "View Registrations" On the top right side you will see "Teams". Click on that, click the "I agree "boxes, and you will see a "Team Actions" button. This is where you can change/select the legs. Select your own leg.Access the team member registration hereIf your team members are registering themselves, share this email with them and they will select Myself at the top of the registration form. This would be best!Select Someone else, if you are registering on behalf of your team members NOTE ** If you are registering your team members, keep it simple. I do not need their birthdate, address or phone #. Just use your own. I do however need their email address! Select Yes, add to another existing teamSearch for your team and select from the dropdown listSelect your segment (ie/ Leg 2 - 10K)Click ContinueIf you would like to register more than one team member in a single transaction, click Add another registrant before you proceedReview and sign the registration waiverSubmit order
What the heck is an Ekiden RelayAn Ekiden relay is a long distance running team event. There is always a ceremonial Tasuki sash involved that the runners pass on to symbolize the teamwork (and sweat !) An Ekiden relay can be any distance. In our version each team will be (collectively) running the distance of a marathon. But fear not! The load is shared so it's over real quick. World record pace!How it works Each team is made up of 6 people. On each team two people will need to run 10k, three people will run 5k and one person will run 7.2k7 pm Your two 10k runners will start 7:05pm your three 5k runners will start. The first 5k runner on your team to finish will tag your 7.2 k runner The 7.2 k runner will wear the Tasuki sash, as this runner is most likely to be your finishing runner. We'll provide you with the sash and a decorating station to personalize it!
**Please remember that Tommy Thompson Park does not allow dogs. If someone is coming to watch they have to leave the dog at home.AWARDSThe GRAND prize, HOKA shoes for the entire team, will be a random draw. If you are in the race , you are entered to win!! HOKA will be joining us on site. MAURTEN IS IN THE HOUSE!! Maurten will be joining us on race day with product samples and gift packs for the first place team. ADDITIONAL PRIZING WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP PLACE WOMEN'S TEAM BY VUORI AND THE TOP PLACE MIXED TEAM BY CIELE.
