What the heck is an Ekiden RelayAn Ekiden relay is a long distance running team event. There is always a ceremonial Tasuki sash involved that the runners pass on to symbolize the teamwork (and sweat !) An Ekiden relay can be any distance. In our version each team will be (collectively) running the distance of a marathon. But fear not! The load is shared, and 4/6 people on the team are running at once. So it's over real quick. World record pace! How it worksEach team is made up of 6 people. On each team two people will need to run 10k, three people will run 5k and one person will run 6.2kYour two 10k runners and two of your 5k runners will start. The remaining 5k runner and 6.2k runner will wait for a tag from the first two 5k runners. The 6.2 k runner will wear the Tasuki sash, as this runner is most likely to be your finishing runner. We'll provide you with the sash and a decorating station to personalize it!**Please remember that Tommy Thompson Park does not allow dogs. If someone is coming to watch they have to leave the dog at home. How to registerOne person (the Captain) will register the team. The cost per team is $180.
