Over the years, the Welland Recreational Canal and the Welland International Flatwater Centre have become one of the main focal points of our summer season. We thank the City of Welland, along with all the participants of our events, for your continued supportWelland Canal Open Water SwimFeaturing the Welland 15K Ultraswim.... yes it's back!One of the most iconic open-water swim events of the season, and a part of the Canaqua Sports Open Water Swim Series since 2017. With distances of 1K, 2.5K, 5K, 10K, and our 15K Ultraswim, this event has something for everyone. We tried the 10K last year, and it is once again a part of this event. Imagine a 10K and a 15K at the same event!
Canaqua Sports is very pleased to be running the Elma Couture 1K Swim as a part of our day's event. This distance is run in honor of Elma Couture, who ran the Welland Canal Open Water Swim for so many years
Elma's pride was in this distance as it brought the younger age group swimmers to this event, often trying open water swimming for the first time.We welcome ALL open water swimmers, regardless of your ability, to come and enjoy a day of swimming at the beautiful Welland International Flatwater Centre.What a great way to end the open water season!
