Join the excitement at the Survival of the Fittest event on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the breathtaking Squamish, BC. Nestled in the stunning Squamish-Lillooet region, this trail running event offers participants a choice between two exhilarating distances: an 18 km loop that challenges seasoned runners and a 35 km course that serves as a perfect early-season goal for those aiming for longer runs this summer. Both routes showcase the awe-inspiring views of the Tantalus Mountain Range, making it a true feast for the senses.
Not only does this event promise an exhilarating experience, but it also gives back to the community. With each registration, $5 will be donated to support Squamish Search & Rescue, and one tree will be planted locally through a Fraser Valley rehabilitation project. Families are also encouraged to participate in the free Kids Race, a fun ~1 km run designed for children aged 3-10, complete with special bibs and finisher stickers. Salomon Coast Mountain Trail Running (CMTR) hosts quality, challenging, professionally-run trail events in world class destinations around Vancouver's North Shore and the Sea to Sky Corridor.Survival of the FittestA fantastic loop from the incredibly scenic Capilano University (formerly Quest) lands in Squamish, BC. With a generous mix of climbing, descending, runnable and technical, these courses have it all. Views across the valley at the dominant Tantalus Mountain Range are presented via both distances. Our 18 km option has seen all of the top local talent race it over the years, and as such the course records are incredibly stout. The 35 km option has become an early season favourite for those pursuing longer distances with their summer running goals.Registration closes at 600 participants.$5 from every registration goes to support Squamish Search & Rescue. Additional donations welcome. As well, one tree will be planted locally for every registration, in partnership with a Fraser Valley rehabilitation project.Our Kids Race is a ~1km run designed for ages 3-10 with special kids' bibs and finisher stickers. Registration is free, and is available online, or on race morning. During registration, we offer parents the opportunity to donate to Butterfly Run, a local organization that supports families dealing with pregnancy and infant loss.Due to new consumer legislation, prices are now shown inclusive of all fees.
