2026 Handloggers Half Marathon

The 12th annual Handloggers Half Marathon and Relay is on Saturday, September 5 2026. This mountain trail run is a challenging 21km counter clockwise loop around Mt. Gardner. To get an idea of our beautiful course - check out our 2017 event video!The race will be a single start event with chip timing. The run begins at 9 am and starts/finishes near the ferry dock in Snug Cove, Bowen Island.Pre-race check in begins at 8am on event day. Runners coming from off island should plan to take the 8am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to ensure adequate time to fill out the waiver form and pick up race numbers.This run can be completed individually or as a relay in a team of three, with handoffs at each of the aid stations. Be sure to check your preferred option when you register.There will be drinks, snacks and great prizes available at the finish line, as well as three aid stations on the course. Please note that Handloggers encourages you to bring your own re-useable cup for use at aid stations and finish line to reduce impact.The Handloggers Half Marathon raises funds in support of Bowen Island Trail Society, the Bowen Island Conservancy and other worthy causes which benefit members of the Bowen Island community.All participants are required to hold a valid BC Athletics athlete membership. Participants who do not have a current BC Athletics membership are required to purchase a Day of Event Membership as part of event registration. The Day of Event Membership fee is $5.00.
