Organiser's Description
The Black Lung Ultra will be hosting a virtual race during the month of May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month. Our event is centered on promoting mental health awareness, resilience, and strong community connections. We also emphasize the importance of enjoying the outdoors and engaging in physical activity as a way to encourage positive mental health, stress reduction, and overall well-being. The event will be a virtual race, using the ASICS app. Registrants only challenge themselves to run the Black Lung Ultra distance and elevation throughout the entirety of May. If a registrant runs 62km throughout the month of May (Mental Health Awareness Month), they will receive a medal, swag and some good feelings of accomplishment and philanthropy as proceeds from their registration are returned to local mental health institutions in Central Alberta. Black Lung Ultra is proud to have brought on Mountain Rose Women's Shelter and Shunda Creek Recovery Centre as our charity partners.
