Bowen Mudder 2025Get Ready to Get Muddy – With a New 5K Twist!
After three wildly successful “mudder” fun runs, Island Pacific School is thrilled to expand this beloved family-friendly event with a brand new 5K course for more serious runners.The race kicks off and finishes at Island Pacific School, located on Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island), the ancestral and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). Runners of all ages will take on a fun, forested course filled with classic “mudder” obstacles designed to immerse participants in the rugged beauty of our coastal temperate rainforest.Costumes and team themes are highly encouraged! This playful, muddy adventure isn’t just about fun — it’s a key fundraiser supporting Island Pacific School’s bursary program, helping ensure accessibility for all students.
Notes:1. IPS will provide shuttle bus service (Snug Cove to IPS) from the 8:05 and 9:20 ferries from Horseshoe Bay. For those new to Bowen you'll walk off the ferry and keep to the right as you head to the bus stop. The bus will also shuttle back to Snug Cove after the race.2. Registration will take place at the front of the school. Each participant will be assigned a bib number. Be sure to keep this for the 20% discount that day from the Bowen Pub. 3. Big thanks to the Bowen General Store for donating after race hot chocolate and snacks. 4. Medicine Wheels Food Truck will be offering full service with an Indigenous flair. 5. We will have a group warm up, led by Sheila Gelinas of Bowen Taebo Fitness.6. The 5k participants will be released first and this will be followed by waves of teams for the 2k fun run. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the 5K event for both under 18 and over 18 year old participants. There will also be awards for best costume and team spirit so come ready for fun! See route map below.7.
