Join us for the uplifting and impactful Jonesy's Run on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Lakewood Park in Tecumseh, Essex! This heartwarming 5K run/walk is dedicated to the memory of Bob Jones, a beloved former assistant coach for the Ottawa Senators, who bravely fought against ALS. With all proceeds benefiting The ALS Society of Windsor-Essex County, this event not only honors Bob's legacy but also supports those living with ALS and contributes to vital research for a cure.
Race day kicks off with last-minute registration and race packet pickup from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, so arrive early as parking is limited! The event features a scenic 5K route that consists of three laps around the paved outer trail, ensuring a delightful experience for both runners and walkers. Kids are invited to participate in our Ace's 200m Dash and Bomber's Kilometre Kids Run, making it a fantastic day for families. Be among the first 400 registrants to receive exclusive finishers’ medals and limited edition T-shirts! With awards for the top three male and female finishers and the first in each 10-year age category, there’s something for everyone. Don't miss

Jonesy’s Run is a 5K run/walk in honour of Windsor’s Bob Jones, a former assistant coach for the Ottawa Senators, who passed away from of ALS on July 26, 2024 at the age of 54. Bob became a vocal advocate for ALS research awareness after his diagnosis in 2022.ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.All proceeds from this annual event will benefit The ALS Society of Windsor-Essex County, assisting persons living with ALS and their families while contributing to research that leads to a cure. Join us on the paved trail at Tecumseh’s Lakewood Park South on Saturday, June 27 to remember and celebrate Bob Jones! Registration will be limited to 400 persons. The 5K route will be 3 full laps around the park’s paved outer trail. Runners and walkers will start at different times due to the narrow path.We will have awards for top 3 male & female plus 1st in each 10 year age category kindly supplied by The Windsor Spitfires!Please Note: parking is limited at Lakewood Park.
