Join us for an inspiring and fun-filled day at Jonesy’s Run on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the scenic Lakewood Park, Tecumseh, Essex! This 5K run/walk pays tribute to the late Bob Jones, a beloved advocate for ALS awareness, who left a lasting legacy in our community. Lace up your running shoes and be part of this meaningful event, where all proceeds support The ALS Society of Windsor-Essex County, aiding those affected by ALS and funding crucial research for a cure.
Starting at 9:00 AM, participants will embark on a picturesque 5K route, consisting of three laps around the park’s paved outer trail. Early birds can register on-site from 7:30 AM, but be sure to arrive early as parking is limited. For our younger athletes, we’ll also host the Ace's 200m Kids Dash and Bomber's Kilometre Kids Run, kicking off the festivities at 8:45 AM! Don’t miss your chance to secure a coveted Finishers Medal and a limited edition T-shirt by registering early. Let’s come together to celebrate Bob's spirit and support a great cause—see you there!

Jonesy’s Run is a 5K run/walk in honour of Windsor’s Bob Jones, a former assistant coach for the Ottawa Senators, who passed away from of ALS on July 26, 2024 at the age of 54. Bob became a vocal advocate for ALS research awareness after his diagnosis in 2022.ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.All proceeds from this annual event will benefit The ALS Society of Windsor-Essex County, assisting persons living with ALS and their families while contributing to research that leads to a cure. Join us on the paved trail at Tecumseh’s Lakewood Park South on Saturday, June 27 to remember and celebrate Bob Jones! Registration will be limited to 400 persons. The 5K route will be 3 full laps around the park’s paved outer trail. Runners and walkers will start at different times due to the narrow path.We will have awards for top 3 male & female plus 1st in each 10 year age category kindly supplied by The Windsor Spitfires!Please Note: parking is limited at Lakewood Park.
