For those looking for an extra challenge, the Sprint Triathlon invites participants to compete across three classes with a minimum of two dogs, while the Sprint Double Double features both 2-dog scooter and bikejoring events. Additionally, teams can join the fun with the Relay competition, which involves canicross, scooter, and bikejoring. Make sure to register in advance as there will be no race day registration. Wrap up the 2025-2026 race season with one last super sprint event!Where: Petitcodiac Dykeland Walking Trails, Hillsborough, NB
When: Saturday, April 25, 2025
Parking: We will be directing parking for participants on-site
Race Start Area: The race start and sign-in will all be held in the immediate vicinity of the parking lot.
Race Meetings: There will be no in-person race briefing. All important information such as start lists, course route, rule reminders, etc. will be conveyed in advance.*This event forms part of the MAHDS REGIONAL CIRCUIT & is sanctioned and insured by MAHDS*Class Order:
1-dog Canicross
2-dog Scooter
1-dog Scooter
2-dog Bikejoring
1-dog Bikejoring
Relay

All classes will use the same 2km trail.
Sprint TRIATHLON:
Enter 1 dog scooter, 1 dog bikejoring, & canicross to automatically be entered in our triathlon competition! Times from all three classes will be added together for final placing in the triathlon. Triathlon participants MUST use a minimum of two dogs across the three classes.Sprint Double Double:
Enter 2 dog scooter & 2 dog bikejoring to automatically be entered in our Double -Double competition! Times from both classes will be added together for final placing in the race.RELAY:
Relay teams must consist of 3 humans and 3 distinct dogs. Teams will compete in canicross, 1 dog scooter, 1 dog bikejoring. Teams may have handlers. The relay will be conducted in seeded heats to ensure the trail is not over crowded. Canicross runners will start the event. Once they have competed the route they will give their dog to a handler and run dog-less through the transition zone to tag the shoulder of their scooter team. Once the scooter driver has completed the 2km they will enter the transition zone handing their dog and scooter to a handler and running on foot to tag in their bike team. Times will be recorded when bike teams cross the finish line. Relay teams register ONCE and MUST be registered by their team captain. Relay team bibs will be delivered to the team captain in their registration packages.

Rules:Because harness dog sports involve more than human athletes, our rules for participants incorporate more than the expected rules to ensure fair competition. These rules also address factors that can impact the health and safety of our canine and human teammates - things like the age of the dog for competition, sport-specific gear requirements for humans and dogs, trail rules (such as passing), and good sportsmanship.All participants must review and adhere to the following documents prior to race day:MAHDS Rules for ParticipantsMAHDS Code of Conduct

RACE MEETINGS: There will be no in-person race briefings. All important information such as start lists, course routes, etc. will be conveyed in advance via the Facebook Event or Race Roster. Start lists and course maps will be posted on site.

INSURANCE: This event is sanctioned and insured under the Maritime Association of Harness Dog Sports ("MAHDS").CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ATHLETES: The MAHDS Code of Conduct must be adhered to by all athletes.

TEMPERATURE: We will be applying MAHDS Temperature Guidelines for this event. These guidelines lay out exactly what you can expect in terms of the Event Organizer's response to temperature changes.
