Let’s show the world the strength of our community.Why We RunIn partnership with Islamic Relief Canada, this year's fundraising will support the Eye Cataract Surgery Project at the Specialized Eye Hospital in Northern Gaza, Palestine, as well as Phase 2 of last year's humanitarian response project in Gaza.This year's support will help provide: Life-changing cataract surgeries and specialized eye care for vulnerable patients at risk of preventable blindness Emergency food and health services for families affected by the ongoing crisis Sponsorship for orphans in desperate need of care and supportBasic essentials including clean water, healthcare, shelter, and psychosocial supportMaking an ImpactThrough Phase 1 of the Eye Cataract Surgery Project, your support helped achieve:9,782 beneficiaries reached13,478 medical consultations providedMore than 122,562 clinical services delivered1,136 ophthalmic surgeries completed, including 359 cataract surgeriesPhase 2 of the eye care project is now underway, with more than 519 ophthalmic surgeries completed in its first two months across multiple specialties, including cataract, retinal, glaucoma, corneal, pediatric, and other vision-saving procedures.Patients are selected based on medical need and urgency through assessments conducted by the hospital’s ophthalmology teams. The project prioritizes vulnerable conflict-affected populations in Northern Gaza, including low-income families, elderly individuals at risk of preventable blindness, trauma patients, and children and adults requiring specialized eye care.How You Can Help Fund a Cataract Surgery – A donation of $1,200 CAD can restore sight by covering the full cost of one life-changing cataract surgery.
