Santa's ResolutionFun Run6.5 km & 13 km This event is a runner/walker social event with no focus on racing! Its all about jump starting your new year’s resolution of staying fit and keeping connected with friends and encouraging each other to stay active over the winter months, while having fun on the run!Distance: 6.5 km or 13 km When: Saturday Dec 13, 2025Course: Road with 40 meters gain/loss per 6.5 km loop. The s/f will have a few cases of water and small bottles of Gatorade for those needing fluid.Start times are staggered to help get you close to reception time. The 6.5 km is one full loop and the 13 km is two full loops.6.5 km Walk start 10:30 am - average 12:30 per km pace (1 loop) 6.5 km Walk start 10:45 am - average 10 :00 per km pace (1 loop) 6.5 km Run start 10:45 am - 8 - 9 min per km pace (1 loop) 6.5 km Run start 11:15 am - 5 - 7 min per km pace (1 loop) 13 km Run start 9:45 am - 8 - 9 min per km pace (2 loops)13 km Run start 10:15 am 6 - 7 min per km pace (2 loops)Reception starts at 12 noon and ends at 12:50 pm**Note: If these times cannot get you close to a noon finish, you can start 10 - 15 mins earlier You would have to email us to confirm your new start time.Start location: Centreville Baptist Church, 870 Murray Dr Centreville, NS, BOP 1J0Cost: $25.00 plus Race Roster processing fee of $4.26Limited field: Limited to the first 30 entries. Due to this being a road training run, there will be an age limit of 14.Name tags: Upon arrival prior to the start of the event, all registered participants will receive a name tag. This name tag allows you access to the venue, food, Santa gift and the opportunity to win draw prizes. You must be present at the time of the draws, to receive the draw prizes.Route (6.5 km loop): Meet at the Centreville Baptist Church. We will walk 200 meters to the start on Hwy 359, as a group. Head South on Hwy 359, using the asphalt path, to Saxon St. Turn left on Saxon St, at the Charles Macdonald Concrete House Museum, and continue on Saxon St to Gibson Woods Road.Turn left at Gibson Woods Rd and continue to Hwy 221.Turn left at Hwy 221 and continue to Hwy 359. Turn left at Hwy 359 and continue 300 meters to the start/finish. The course will have directional signs at all four turns. Runners and walkers must face traffic at all times and treat this social event as a training run/walk and not a race.Reception: A reception will follow at the Centreville Baptist Church, in their main reception area, with pizza delivery from Dominos. There will also be a variety of coffee pods, water bottles, pop and variety of cheese cake for dessert. We will also have gluten free cheese cake as an option.The pizzas will be:CanadianVegetarianGluten freePlease let us know on or before Dec 10th, if you prefer the gluten free, to ensure we order enough for all.Special Guest: Santa will be making a guest appearance at noon and handing out a little gift to all of the Naughty or Nice. He also plans to ask you what your new year's resolution is! There will also be a few draw prizes for those who wear something festive. A festive item could be a Santa hat, or bells around your neck, or dressing in a festive costume.Washroom: Centreville Baptist Church has full washrooms available for your convenience and the facility will be open from 9 am - 1 pm. Parking: There is plenty of parking available at Centreville Baptist Church.Event Cancelation: If the event is cancelled for ANY reason we will notify all via race roster email the day before. Please ensure to check your SPAM folder as many Race Roster emails end up in your SPAM folder for some reason. All registered participants will get a 100% deferral to our planned St Patrick's day fun run/walk that should take place at the same location on Saturday March 14 with same choice of distances.
