Runners will traverse a diverse course featuring single track, double track, dirt roads, and even some bushwhacking, ensuring a truly unique experience. With checkpoints every 20 to 40km for the 200-mile race, competitors will be well-supported while navigating the rugged terrain. Participants are required to carry a Garmin inReach for safety and route-finding, adding an extra layer of adventure to this remarkable race. The SOO 200 celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area. Known for the tough land of the Canadian shield, and stunning landscapes, the SOO 200 will challenge all athletes. This is also Eastern Canada's only 200-miler, and a sister event of The Divide 200. NEW DISTANCE OPTIONS! With our new course revision, we are opening up the race to 100-miler and 50k runners. The 100-miler and 50k both start at Stokely Creek Lodge.The course is a combination of single track, double track, dirt road, cross-country, and even a bit of bushwhacking. There will be some short sections of route-finding, even though it is a prescribed course; the terrain can just be really gnarly out there.Checkpoints are every 20 to 40km apart on the 200 mile, depending on the section of the race. 200 mile competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach for both route-finding and safety.Stay tuned for more announcements. The first 50% installment is due on registration, which holds your spot, and the second is due on May 22. Note that you can pay the balance after May 22, but there will be a 10% price increase.
