What This Event SupportsEvery spring, FAB offers a free and empowering program to over 150 youth girls in Hamilton’s priority neighbourhoods. Our program challenges participants to train for and finish a 5K run. Participants meet weekly with volunteer coaches for training, fun, and skill-building. They finish feeling proud, confident, and equipped with a goal-setting framework they can use for any future endeavour. All money raised from this event will help us continue to offer our program to youth girls in Hamilton annually at no cost to them. Our program is FREE, and each participant receives a new pair of running shoes, a training t-shirt, healthy snacks at each session, a goal setting journal and transportation and entry into local race and program events.
