Get ready for an exhilarating day of outdoor adventure at the Wild Lakes 10K on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, in the stunning wilderness of Halifax! This event promises to kick off the spring season with a thrilling urban trail racing experience, starting from the Maskwa Aquatics Club parking lot. Participants will be treated to a picturesque route, featuring beautiful lakes and winding single-track trails that showcase the natural beauty of this protected area.
In addition to the 10K race, the event will also feature the return of Halifax Search and Rescue's Eco-Endurance Challenge (E2C), where you might spot some of the 24-hour contestants tackling the course. This year, we are committed to a "leave no trace" approach, encouraging all runners to bring their own drinking containers for the aid stations to minimize waste. With on-site medical support provided by Halifax Search & Rescue, and friendly trail stewards from the Friends of Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes guiding you along the way, you can focus on enjoying the adventure. Best of all, funds raised beyond costs will benefit Halifax Search & Rescue and the Friends of Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit in the heart of nature

Urban Trail Racing is kicking off the spring season in this beautiful protected wilderness area. We kick off from Maskwa Aquatics Club parking lot and head into this amazing wilderness area. Lots of single track, beautiful lakes, and a chance to find your way in this protected wilderness. Similar to last year we're bringing back Halifax Search and Rescue's Eco-Endurance Challenge (E2C). You may see some of the 24 hour contestants on the course.
