Discover Pink is a virtual walk/run held during the month of October that promotes awareness of the importance of screening in the early detection of breast cancer while raising important dollars for PROJECT ACCESS NETWORKS BREAST HEALTH PROGRAM, which connects the underserved in Marion and Polk Counties to needed breast health care.
Project Access Network (PAN) partners with area healthcare providers to connect to donated care those who have exhausted all of their options. PAN community health workers then help with overcoming barriers to accessing this care, such as language and transportation, ensuring that an average of 98% of patients attend their appointments.
In 2023, Discover Pink raised just under $13,000, netting just under $12,000 (we keep our expenses low!). With this, we were able to help 10 women in Marion & Polk Counties in active breast cancer treatment to pay bills like rent, utilities, car payments, and insurance. The funds allowed them a bit of relief during a stressful and expensive time in their lives.
With your support, we'll raise more money in 2024 and be able to help more people!
Discover Pink es una caminata/carrera virtual que se lleva a cabo durante el mes de octubre para promover la concienciaci'on sobre la importancia de la detecci'on temprana del c'ancer de mama, mientras recauda fondos importantes para EL PROGRAMA DE SALUD MAMARIA DE PROJECT ACCESS NETWORK, que conecta a las personas desatendidas en los condados de Marion y Polk con la atenci'on de salud mamaria necesaria.
Project Access Network (PAN) se asocia con proveedores de atenci'on m'edica locales para conectar a los cuidados donados a aquellos que han agotado todas sus opciones. Los fondos les permitieron un poco de alivio durante un momento estresante y costoso en sus vidas.
