Join us for the 2025 Annual Burns Park Run on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, in the picturesque Ann Arbor neighborhood of Washtenaw, just a stone's throw from the University of Michigan campus. This beloved community event features a scenic loop course that welcomes both novice and elite runners alike. Participants can choose between two exciting race distances: a 5K and a 10K, with over 1,000 runners expected to take part, including more than 200 elementary school kids eager to run the 5K. For younger participants, a special 1/2 mile Fun Run will be held, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Celebrating its 47th anniversary this year, the Burns Park Run is not only a fantastic opportunity for fitness and fun but also serves as a vital fundraiser for the Burns Park Elementary PTO programs. Every finisher in the timed events will receive a medal, with additional awards for top performers in various categories being presented at the ceremony following the Fun Run. Organiser's Description

Winding through a beautiful Ann Arbor neighborhood near the University of Michigan campus, the tree-lined Burns Park Run loop course has been a favorite of beginner and world-class runners alike.

The Burns Park Run, sponsored by Probility, will be held on Sunday, April 27th, 2025. It is a long-standing and successful fundraiser, organized and run by volunteers, that supports Burns Park Elementary PTO [http://www.burnsparkpto.org] programs. We are excited to celebrate our 47th anniversary this year.

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the Burns Park Run 5K and 10K races annually draw 1,000 to 1,500 runners aged 5 to 90 years, with over 200 elementary school kids running the 5K. For the youngest of participants, there is a separate 1/2 mile Fun Run around the park.

AWARDS & MEDALS

ALL FINISHERS of the timed events: 5K (Run and Walk) and 10K will receive a finisher medal at the Burns Park Run. Additional awards will be recognized at the awards ceremony which will take place after the Fun Run at approximately 10am. Awards will be recognized for the following categories:

* Top Male, Female and Non-Binary for Top Overall, Masters and Grand Masters winner of the 5K and 10K Run
* Top Male, Female and Non-Binary for Top Winner for each Adult Age Group Division of the 5K and 10K Run
* 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male, Female and Non-Binary for each Youth Age Division (5 and under through 17 years old) of the 5K and 10K Run

RACE T-SHIRTS

Shirts are OPTIONAL and can be purchased when registering or through the event store on the Run Sign Up website.

PACKET PICKUP SCHEDULE: APRIL 25-27, 2025

Packet pickup will be available during the following times, including on Race Day.

FRIDAY APRIL 25TH: 4-5 PM. Our team will be set up with a packet pickup and registration table at the Burns Park Centennial Celebration. Come find us outside of Burns Park Elementary from 4-5 PM.

SATURDAY APRIL 26TH: 12-3 PM. Packet pickup will be open on Saturday afternoon from 12-3 PM at the Burns Park Warming Hut (located at the corner of Wells St and Baldwin Ave). Limited parking and street parking available. We will have packet pickup, registration, and t-shirt sales available.

SUNDAY APRIL 27TH, 7:30-8:15 AM. Prior to the start of the races/events, we will have last minute bib pickups and t-shirt sales (based on availability). Please arrive with enough time to get your bib and get to the starting lines by 8:30 AM.

Packet pickup will occur on the site of the race: The Burns Park Warming Hut is located at the corner of Wells St and Baldwin Ave, near Burns Park Elementary. Enter 1700 Wells St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 on your phone or navigation for directions to the site.

MORE ABOUT THE BURNS PARK RUN

The Burns Park Run was started by the PTO as a fundraiser for 6th grade campers in 1979. This Burns Park Elementary fundraiser has grown and symbiotically supported the activities offered by our PTO to its students and their families. Todays race is headed by volunteer race directors and ~100 volunteers working throughout the year on planning, funding, marketing and staffing the Burns Park Run.

    The 5K starts and finishes near the corner of Wells St and Baldwin Ave. Participants travel counter-clockwise around the course. Most of the course is flat, with the largest net elevation change on Shadford Rd, from Ferdon Rd to Harding Rd, followed by a lesser, but steeper incline immediately after turning onto Woodside Rd. The finish is a long gradual downhill, with a fast downhill from Ferdon Rd to the finish line. Race T-Shirts - Shirts are OPTIONAL and can be purchased when registering or through the event store on the Run Sign Up website.
