RACE ACROSS THE SSGT MCNABB MEMORIAL BRIDGE
VICTORY DASH, 5K AND NAUTICAL MILE FUN RUN/WALK
Experience a unique 5K run or a Nautical Mile Fun Run/Walk on May 10, 2025 in East Tawakoni, TX. This race has drawn runners from all regions of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma mainly because the race is entirely over water on Lake Tawakoni, a beautiful lake spanning multiple counties. Run across the 2-mile SSGT McNabb Memorial Bridge while listening to rock music blaring from the rescue boats. And – Rains ISD cheerleaders cheer you on and give you your medal when you cross the finish line. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals for males and females as well as participation medals for every runner/walker. There have been some phenomenal runners run the bridge for Gold, Silver, and Bronze and they have already signed up to come again in 2025. Come join them to experience a 100% over water race.

The East Tawakoni Economic Development Corporation sponsors a race across the 2-Mile SSGT McNabb Memorial Bridge each year in May. This year, we are excited to include a Victory Dash for life skills students/ persons with disabilities Ages 8 – to adult. This will be the first race of the day. There is no cost to you but you must be registered at the link below to get your free t-shirt and medal. If family and friends want to participate in the race but not receive a medal or t-shirt, there is no cost and you do not need to register. If you would like a t-shirt and medal, you will also need to register and pay a discounted $15.00 registration fee. The other 2 races are a Nautical Mile Fun Run/Walk and a 5K.
The East Tawakoni Police/Fire Departments will be on the bridge to redirect traffic and ensure everyone’s safety. Our Emergency Management Coordinator has agreed to be on the bridge during this race. It will be a relatively short race – 400 feet with a turn-around at the mid-point, but will be long enough to give each walker/runner the full experience.
The Rains ISD Cheerleaders will be there to cheer you on and give you your medal as you cross the finish line. It does not matter if you complete the entire race. Everyone gets a medal.
Check-in will be at 7:30 a.m. at the East Tawakoni Library at 255 Oak Leaf Trail, East Tawakoni, TX. Parking is in front of the library. There will be golf cart volunteers to drive you to the starting line and drive you back to your vehicles after the race. If you are unable to pick up your t-shirt prior to the race, you can change into your race shirt at the library.
