This event is being hosted by the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Doctor of Physical Therapy Students (Registered UWSP Student Organization), partnered with the UWSP Homecoming Committee. Join us on a scenic race, routing through Schmeeckle Reserve in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Run the 5K competitively or walk at your own pace and enjoy the outdoors. Proceeds from the event will be donated toward the Marquette Challenge to help raise money for Physical Therapy research, with the hopes of advancing the ability of physical therapists nationwide to better assist those in need. The VCU-Marquette Challenge is a national competition in which physical therapy students compete to raise funds for the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR). The UWSP DPT Student Organization received the _Most Successful PT Newcomer Award_ in the 2023-2024 VCUMarquette Challenge! Additional proceeds will help our students seek professional development and service opportunities in the local community and nationwide. This 5K also brings Pointer Pride during the 2024 Homecoming Week to welcome UWSP students and alumni, family, faculty, and community members to show support for our beloved city! After completion of the race, visit our local sponsor tables at the race start/finish line (also active before race), partake in Homecoming festivities (https://www.uwsp.edu/student-homecoming-events/), and cheer on the UWSP Football Team at Goerke Field, with kickoff at 1:00pm as they take on UW-Stout (Homecoming & Spud Bowl Game).
