Organiser's Description
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, ( also Suicide Prevention) Sadly Phil left this world by suicide, leaving behind many loved ones, who are still attempting to heal from his loss.
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. We as a society are often not great with talking about such a stigma. A persons mental health is a journey that not many understand. Mental health is often stigmatized because of a lack of understanding about what mental health conditions are and what it's like to live with a mental health condition. We hope to inspire others to raise awareness and take part in sharing information, resources and support for mental health and suicide prevention.
You can find information at American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. https://afsp.org/about-afsp. And at the National Alliance of Mental Illness. https://www.nami.org [https://www.nami.org/about]
This is a VIRTUAL event! ( which means you can run/walk anywhere at anytime) you may also make a donation that will go to AFSP in Philips name.
If you or someone you love is in a crisis, you can get support by calling 988.
Any questions please contact Lisa Tassotto in the question portion below!
