LYNCHBURG PEDIATRICS is proud to sponsor this LYNCHBURG ROAD RUNNERS Children's Event, held each October at Riverside Park in memory of Dr. John A. Stephenson, founding physician of Lynchburg Pediatrics formally--- Richeson Drive Pediatrics since 1972.

For over 50 years, Lynchburg Pediatrics has cared for local families, and this race reflects our investment in a healthier community: registration is JUST $5, keeping the race accessible to every family this is every kid's first finish line. Parents can run alongside the youngest kids in the shorter distances, and every child races with their own bib number and an official finish time. Every participant takes home a personalized finisher card, and top finishers in each age group earn a HAND-CARVED TROPHY by runner and local artist Jeff Harrington. In keeping with our commitment to whole-child health, every runner also gets to pick out a FREE BOOK TO TAKE HOME, in partnership with Reach Out and Read. Because we believe reading is just as much a part of a healthy childhood as running.

ENTRY LIMIT:
50 participants per gender per age group.

T-SHIRTS:
T-shirts are available for an additional charge of $10.00 to those registered by _MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026_. After this date, shirts will not be available to order.

RACE DISTANCES & AGE GROUPS:

3 & under 1/8th mile,

4-5 yrs old 1/4 mile,

6-7 yrs. old 1/2 mile,

8-13 yrs. old 1 mile.

All events take place at Riverside Park, 2238 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia. Proceeds benefit the Lynchburg Road Runners Club, a 501c3 non-profit, whose mission remains to promote community health and wellness through the sport of running.

COURSES:
Gently rolling courses (closed to traffic) winding through historic, Riverside Park (2238 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503).

LYNCHBURG ROAD RUNNERS CLUB MEMBER DISCOUNT:
A $1.00 discount is available to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. Discounts will not be given after Monday September 30th. Participant membership must be current with the LRRC membership roster found on RunSignUp on race day. Discount will be given at checkout automatically. Refunds and discounts will not be given after completing online race registration.

AWARDS:
All Finishers receive a "FINISHER Cookie"

All finishers receive a personalized finishers card with their name and distance if registered before race day.

Top 3 overall boys and girls for the 1 mile distance (all races combined) will receive a special carved trophy by Jeff Harrington at the end of the event.
Top 3 boys and girls in each race will receive a hand carved trophy as they cross the finish line.

AGE GROUPS (BOYS & GIRLS): 3-under (1/8 mi); 4-5 (1/4 mi); 6-7 (1/2 mi); 8-9 (1 mi); 10-11 (1 mi); 12-13 (1 mi)

PARKING: Riverside Park, closed to ALL vehicular traffic (8AM to 12PM or completion of event). Please park on Rivermont Ave.

STROLLERS & PETS PROHIBITED (but you can carry your child in the 1/8 mile if needed)

REGISTRATION IS NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE
