WELCOME TO OUR FIRST ANNUAL 5K FOR CASA HOSTED BY THE ZETA UPSILON CHAPTER OF KAPPA ALPHA THETA.

KAPPA ALPHA THETA IS CELEBRATING 30 YEARS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS IN 2026 AND WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US TO CELEBRATE THIS MILESTONE AND OUR TWO FAVORITE PHILANTHROPIC CAUSES.

The partnership between the National CASA/GAL Association for Children and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation began in 1989 and has flourished for more than three decades. For Theta, National CASA/GAL and our nationwide network represents a meaningful opportunity to live out its goal of exercising the widest influence for goodthrough service, support, and financial contributions that make a lasting difference in the lives of children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.

COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE (CASA)

Volunteer Advocates are everyday heroes making extraordinary differences for children and families. As a CASA volunteer, you are a member of the community who receives extensive education and training in order to advocate for abused and neglected children who through no fault of their own are thrust into the complex child welfare system, and often, into foster care. As a Volunteer Advocate, you are empowered by the courts to provide best-interest advocacy with the childs well-being placed at the forefront. CASA volunteers work to ensure that children dont get lost and lose healthy family connections to an overburdened system. Since 2007, the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta has donated more than $58,000 to CASA of Collin County [https://casaofcollincounty.org/]and is excited to host a 5K for the community to continue their lifelong support.

Created by Thetas for Thetas, Theta Foundation is dedicated to partnering with individuals and college and alumnae chapters for fundraising efforts to support Thetas with scholarships; non-degree educational, service-learning, and leadership grants; and Kappa Alpha Theta's educational and leadership programs. Every year Zeta Upsilon donates to this great cause and is also a recipient of several individual scholarships for many chapter members.
