ABOUT AARON'S LEGACY: A45K FUNDRAISER: The A45K is an in-person 5k run/walk with a virtual option. It gives members of the Florida Elite Football and Cheerleading community the opportunity to honor Aaron Wilson (A4) while raising awareness and funds for the American Childhood Cancer Organization. ACCO was founded in 1970 by parents of children diagnosed with cancer. It is dedicated to making childhood cancer a national health priority through shaping policy, expanding research, raising awareness, and providing educational resources and innovative comfort programs to children with cancer, and their families.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN CHILDHOOD CANCER ORGANIZATION (ACCO): The American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO) was founded in 1970 and is the oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to childhood cancer in the United States. We advocate at both the federal and state levels and collaborate with the World Health Organization to improve the global cure rate for childhood cancer. Notably, ACCO is the only national non-governmental organization actively working at the state level. Since 2018, ACCO has secured more than $120 million in state funding for childhood cancer research across seven states.

Donations also provide children with cancer and their families the informational resources needed to understand childhood cancer treatment in age-appropriate, easy-to-comprehend terminology. Education of even the littlest cancer patient is essential to understanding the difficult battle ahead. Our medical play kit provides children the opportunity to practice treatment procedures on ACCOs mascot Cozy to empower them before receiving the treatments themselves.

ACCO is proud to support families with our resources, and we love sharing about the positive impact they have made in the lives of children with cancer.

Florida Elite initially included eight organizations, marking the beginning of an exceptional league. Over the years, the league has grown steadily, attracting teams from across the state, ranging from Miami in the south to Jacksonville in the north, Pinellas in the west, and Daytona in the east. Florida Elite is currently in 20 of Floridas 67 counties.
