The Scouting America (formally known as Boy Scouts of America)- Great Falls Council provides a well rounded program that promotes physical, mental, and emotional development while fostering a lifelong love of learning and adventure. We currently serve 5,373 youth council wide. We are made up of six districts within the council. Winding Rivers District, covers Bradford County where tis race is being held. In the Winding Rivers District we serve 470 Scouts and recruit year long.

Lace up your running shoes and run or walk with Scouting America! The Adventure Awaits 5k is open to all ages. You do not have to be a runner to participate. This provides a great opportunity for Scouts, avid runners, and families to get outdoors and support the Scouting program in the community. Whether you walk or run, you will enjoy the scenery and atmosphere! The race is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.

This race is held at the Riverfront Park in Sayre Borough Pennsylvania with a mix of trail and road experience. Restrooms are available and there will be at least one water stop along the race from local Scouts. Prerace packet pick up will be held on Friday, August 28th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Packet pick up day of will take place from 7:00 am to 7:45 am and the 5k run/walk begins at 8:30 am.. Early registration through RunSignup is encouraged for a fee of $25. Registration at packet pick up is $30. Cash or checks only accepted on Friday 8/28 or Saturday 8/29.

An awards ceremony will be shortly after the race, with age group awards for the top men's and woman's categories for the following age groups: under 12, 13-17, 18-29, 23-30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65+. The overall top Man and Woman will also receive a special prize.

Kids fun run is for ages 2-10. Every kid will receive a prize who participates. Kids fun run will be at 8:15 am and kids will run about 400 meters.
