Join the fun at the Alameda July 4th Parade R.A.C.E. on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, a vibrant celebration that combines fitness and community spirit in the heart of Alameda! This exhilarating 5K run, a flat and fast point-to-point course, invites participants to navigate through the picturesque streets of Alameda while enjoying the festive atmosphere. Kicking off at 8:30 AM from the Park St Business District, runners will finish at the Webster Farmers Market, just in time for the iconic Island Parade, the longest in the country, beginning at 10:00 AM.
This year marks a special milestone, celebrating 250 years of tradition, and participants can look forward to fantastic SWAG, including custom medals and finisher shirts, as well as a designated shuttle service back to the start line, free of charge. The event not only supports the Midway Shelter of Alameda but also showcases local businesses at the health-focused EXPO, along with a lively Beer Garden sponsored by Faction Brewery. Don't miss out on this incredible community event where you can run, celebrate, and connect with fellow residents and visitors alike!

Come out for our July 4th tradition and run this flat and fast point to point 5k thru the closed streets of Alameda. We will be starting again at 8:30AM to provide ample space between our runners and the Parade that follows.
This year we are celebrating 250 years with some great SWAG and the long anticipated SHUTTLE service from the race finish back to the start FREE of charge.
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The 5K run (3.1 mile) and walk takes you through beautiful Alameda winding thru business and residential streets. This run benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda and kicks off our historic Island Parade, the longest in the country! Runners start in the Park St Business District and end at the Webster Farmers Market location with completely closed roads and spectators beginning to line up for the Parade that follow at 10:00am

* 7/1 thru 7/3: Laurens Closet. 1420 Park St, Alameda. Hours 10:00am - 5:00pm
* 7/4 Race morning registration opens at 7:30am 1440 Park St, Alameda ~ La Penca Restaurant. Corner of Santa Clara
RACE DAY DETAILS:

* Race Start : 8:30am
* Finish: 1526 Webster St, Alameda, CA 94501 (Tues/Saturday Farmers Market Location)
This race is BIB timed but we will have no AG awards this year. With a focus on community involvement we have great finisher shirts and customs medals as well as some "run the island" SWAG at the finish
Our EXPO will have the best of local businesses focused on health and longevity, and of course our Beer Garden sponsored by Faction Brewery.
If you are traveling via Bart or public transportation please review the schedules below to get you to the race start, and picked up from the race finish. And if you park at the start, don't forget to follow the signs to the Post run Shuttle back to the start: Shuttle will run from 9am - 1pm with priority to runners with BIBS but will be open to all of our community !
