Runners can choose between two exciting divisions: the Overall division, where you’ll tackle full loops across five main trails, or the Mountain Goat division, focusing on three main elevation loops.
With a limited capacity of just 35 slots, this event promises to be a thrilling and competitive experience, featuring a live leaderboard to track your progress in real-time. All registrants will receive a Viking medal and compete for top prizes in various categories, including overall and masters divisions. Organiser's Description
April Fool's Viking 6-hour Trail
Saturday April 1st 2023
Saturday April 1st 8am-2pm 35 slots
Location: Ramapo Valley County Reservation Mahwah NJ Trail Map will be emailed to all registrants to print out and review.
6 Hours to get as much mileage as possible.
Check-in required every 4.0-5.0 miles on your gps along w/ Body weight exercise after each lap.
-Runners must have their GPS/ phone devices linked to Strava and join the club" Viking Obstacle Race Followers" and your designated days private event on Strava. This will track all mileage and elevation stats to be shared in a common area for official review and verification, create a leaderboard in real time.
2 divisions- Overall and Mountain Goat
Overall: runners will be required to complete in full loops , 5 main trails and accumulate any other mileage with time remaining.
Required: Yellow / Red / Blue / Pink (reservoir loop) / Orange Green w/ lake loop
Mountain Goat: runners will be required to complete 3 main elevation loop trails and accumulate any remaining elevation with time remaining.
Required: Yellow / Red / Blue
Each lap will be logged via Strava App on your phone or gps device.
Live leaderboard will be available as people check in and complete their lap exercise.
-Event will start promptly at 8am and runners may use any trail to start. Use of all trails will help with social distancing. Runners will be given the trail map prior to the event and must declare which trail they will be starting on for the 1st run segment. If multiple people plan to use the same trail they will be split up and sent off in opposite directions to space everyone out more.
