The inaugural Back the Blue 5K will be a benefit run for the Pawnee Police Department. The department was recently awarded a grant for a K9. The proceeds from the race will help with other expenses associated with adding this new K9 to our department!



After the race enjoy the annual Dick Tracy Day events in downtown Pawnee. There will be a 10am police parade will agencies from across NE Oklahoma in downtown Pawnee followed by refreshments at the Pawnee County Historical Society Museum. There will be a Pawnee Police Department Open House from 11:00 to 1:00 with finger foods and police themed goodie bags for the kids. VIP area for law enforcement! There will be a Fall Festival happening on the Townsquare from 9:00-3:00 with vendors, bounce house, farmers market, food trucks and more! This is also Pawnee's City-Wide Yard Sale Day! Come back the blue with us on October 5th and celebrate an historical police character, Dick Tracy! Dick Tracy is one of Americas first animated police officers. Tracy was created by a cartoonist named Chester Gould, who later wrote the animated comic strip for various newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune. Chester Gould was born in Pawnee Oklahoma and spent the early part of his life here. His work is remembered through our historical museum and through a large mural on a historic downtown building. He is also the face on our Pawnee Police Department badge!



About the Event:

* Saturday, October 5th!
* 5K starts at 7:30am
* 1Mile Fun Run starts immediately after the 5K
* This will be a chipped time race with First Place timing [https://www.firstplacetiming.com].

Packet Pickup:

* Friday, October 4th, 8am to 8pm at the Pawnee Police Department
* Saturday, October 5th, 7am to race time
* Race packets include your shirt, bib, safety pins and swag bag

Awards:

* Medals will be given to top three, male and female OVERALL and AGE GROUP winners
* Race shirt with entry fee
* Same day registration does not guarantee shirts and swag bags, we will have limited amounts available!
