CHEAHA MUSHING CLUB PRESENTS A FUN, VIRTUAL OCTOBER CHALLENGE!
The funds from this challenge will go towards our January Choccolocco Dryland Mushing Challenge, so thank you for signing up and helping to support that race!
This challenge is designed a bit differently from typical canicross races, so please read fully! You can choose to showcase your endurance with a 10k or your speed with a 2-mile sprint; or even better, try both! We want our youngsters involved as well, so we have a kids 2-mile option available! There are no Men's/Women's categories!!! We will all race together here! The top 6 finishers in each category (10k, 2-Mile Sprint, and Kid's 2-Mile) will be awarded medals!*
Registration will be open from Sept 15th-24th. The challenge starts a week later, on October 1st. You are welcome to submit your results anytime from runs completed October 1st - 16th, but please only submit once! You can submit your results on here, but please post them to the facebook event: https://fb.me/e/4U2uo5epP (I will create a post for people to submit their official results). Results must be submitted using a screenshot of tracking app such as garmin, fitbit, strava, apple, etc. Brownie points if you post a picture of you and your dog on your run together!
A long-sleeved, dry fit shirt is included in registration. The options are a purple shirt/orange logo** or an orange shirt/purple logo. If you want to compete in both events, but only want one shirt, sign up for the add on option for the second event (EXAMPLE: register for the 10k, and then register for the 'add on 2-mile sprint' to save cost of a second shirt). You must choose the full registration if only signing up for one event! If you want two shirts, register for each full event separately.
Cheaha Mushing Club will host a meetup on October 14th to provide a fun, in-person place to complete our miles! Let's dress up and have fun! I'll bring coffee and morning breakfast items (donuts, muffins, etc.), but you're welcome to bring things as well! I'm hoping I will have the shirts back from the printer in time for the meetup!
* FOR THOSE SELECTING THE SHIPPING OPTION, I WILL SHIP OUT THE SHIRTS AFTER THE RESULTS ARE FINAL, SO I CAN SHIP OUT ANY MEDALS WITH THEM!
**OUR PRINT SHOP IS CONFIRMING THAT THEY CAN GET ORANGE AND PURPLE LONG SLEEVE DRY FIT SHIRTS. IF THEY CANT WE WILL CHOOSE A NEW COLOR AND WILL UPDATE ON THE FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE WITH ANY CHANGES.
