Get ready for an exciting day of fun and fitness at the Bartram Springs Kids Triathlon, taking place on Sunday, October 15th, 2023, in beautiful Jacksonville, Duval! This engaging event, part of the Florida Race Day Kids Triathlon Series, is open to young athletes aged 6 to 14, with race distances tailored to their age group. Participants will dive into a thrilling swim in the pool, hop on their bikes for a scenic ride, and then put their running skills to the test. Distances include 50 yards for ages 6-8, 100 yards for ages 9-11, and 150 yards for ages 12-14, followed by a bike ride of approximately 1.5 miles and a fun run ranging from 290 to 870 yards depending on age.
With only 100 spots available, this event promises an intimate and supportive atmosphere where kids can challenge themselves while making lasting memories. Each participant will receive a racing bib, a Florida Race Day Kids Tri shirt, a finisher's medal, and race photographs. KIDS TRIATHLON PARTICIPANTS WILL SWIM IN THE POOL, JUMP ON THEIR BIKES, THEN OFF ON THEIR FEET FOR THE RUNNING PORTION. THE EVENTS WILL BE CHIP TIMED WITH A FINISHER TIME. DISTANCES ARE BASED ON THE AGE OF THE CHILD. KIDS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN BIKES AND MUST WEAR A HELMET TO PARTICIPATE. THE EVENTS WILL GO OFF WITH EACH PARTICIPANT GETTING A NET TIME WITH SWIMMERS CROSSING A TIMING MAT BEFORE THEY BEGIN SWIM PORTION. KIDS TRIATHLON START TIME IS 9:00 AM, RACE DISTANCE IS DETERMINED BY CHILD'S AGE ( SEE BELOW)
PARENTS OF 6-8 YEAR OLD KIDS WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN YOUR KIDS ON BIKE PORTION OF THEIR RIDE.
AGES 6-8, 50 YARDS ( 2 LENGTHS ) IN POOL, BIKE APPROX 1.5 MILE RUN APPROX 290 YARDS
AGES 9-11 100 YARDS ( 4 LENGTHS) IN POOL, BIKE APPROX 1.5 MILE , RUN APPROX 580 YARDS
AGES 12-14 150 YARDS ( 6 LENGTHS) IN POOL, BIKE APPROX 1.5 MILE , RUN APPROX 870 YARDS
ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL GET A RACING BIB, FLORIDA RACE DAY / KIDS TRI SHIRT , FINISHERS MEDAL, AND RACE PHOTOGRAPHS. FINISHING RESULTS WILL BE POSTED ONLINE.
AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN OUT TO TOP 3 MALE AND 3 FEMALE OF EACH AGE GROUP.
PACKET PICK UP IS AT RACE LOCATION ON RACE MORNING - SUNDAY OCTOBER 15TH BETWEEN 7:45 AM - 8:30 AM - NO RACE DAY SIGN UPS
