Organiser's Description

THE LENOIR-RHYNE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF HEALTH, EXERCISE AND SPORT SCIENCE, WITH THE OFFICE OF STUDENT LIFE, IS PROUD TO SPONSOR THE BEARS ON THE MOVE 100-DAY VIRTUAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CHALLENGE. ENTRY FEE FOR THIS CHALLENGE WILL GO TOWARD A TECHNOLOGY FUND TO ASSIST LR STUDENTS WITH ATTAINING ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT ACADEMIC SUCCESS, SUCH AS LAPTOPS.

THIS CHALLENGE WILL RUN FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 TO DECEMBER 9, 2024. 100 DAYS!

IT IS A VIRTUAL CHALLENGE - SO YOU CAN COMPLETE IT FROM ANYWHERE!

There are options for your challenge. You can choose your 100-day physical activity challenge based on distance completed (in miles) or time completed. It is your choice.

* DISTANCE-BASED CHALLENGES

* Log running, walking, swimming, biking, elliptical, paddle/row miles for the distance-based challenges. Any activity where you can accrue miles! If you choose this challenge, you will be able to select the corresponding activity type when reporting your completed distance.

* TIME-BASED CHALLENGE

* Any physical activity can be used with the 150 or 300 minutes per week challenges. This includes cardio (e.g., running, walking, swimming, biking, group exercise aerobic classes, etc.), resistance training (e.g., weight training), mobility, and other. You will be able to select the corresponding activity type with this challenge as well when reporting your completed time.

There are no penalties for exceeding even our own expectations. The system will allow you to go OVER the goal indicated.

Want to join with friends, colleagues, or family? Individual and Team Challenges are available.
The Team Challenge will allow members of the team to accrue miles toward the goal for the group (500 miles Team Challenges available). The more, the merrier.

Submitting your Physical Activity
Tracking/logging your physical activity is easy. You will simply click on RESULTS on the menu bar, then hit the button that says "Submit Virtual Results" and follow the on screen prompts. You can log your physical activity daily or weekly, whatever you choose. You can also log as many times a day as you need, in case you want to go for multiple bouts of physical activity a day.
