Get ready for an exhilarating experience at the Beer Mountain Challenge, taking place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the stunning Upward Brewing Company in Livingston Manor, Sullivan. Nestled in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, this trail run offers two exciting distances: a challenging 2-mile loop with 515 feet of elevation gain and a more intense 4-mile course that features two loops with a total elevation gain of 1,030 feet. Runners will navigate a mix of foot trails, rocky carriage paths, and grassy fields, all while enjoying the breathtaking views from the mountain that peaks at 1,870 feet.
Participants aged 14 and older can look forward to a chip-timed race that promises a fun and technical course filled with natural obstacles like rocks, stumps, and roots. Each registrant will receive a stylish t-shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a complimentary craft beer token to savor after the race in Upward Brewing's taproom. Please note that while the consumption of alcohol is prohibited during the race, post-event is the perfect time to unwind with some award-winning brews. Be sure to arrive between 10:00 am and 10:30 am for the 11:00 am

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?!
Set on Upward Brewing Companys 120-acre mountain plot in the Catskill Mountains, the Beer Mountain Challenge is a trail run with two distance options for runners 2 mile and 4 mile. Appropriately dubbed, Beer Mountain peaks at 1870 feet and is covered in a network of trails up, down and across the mountain all located on Upward Brewings property! This is a super fun and technical course with lots of rocks, loose rocks, stumps, roots, uneven footing, etc -- and it will surely leave you with exhausted lungs, a beer in your hand, and a big fat smile : )
(ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY - NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!)
About the Race:
The 2-mile option is one loop with 515 feet of elevation gain, and the 4-mile option is two loops with 1,030 feet of elevation gain. Courses are a mix of foot trails (75%), rocky carriage path (20%) and grassy fields (5%).
Each registrant receives a t-shirt, a custom finisher medal and a FREE CRAFT BEER TOKEN for use in Upward Brewings taproom!

11:00am Start both 2-mile and 4-mile participants will start at the same time.
1:00pm End course will close at 1:00pm and event ends.
THIS IS NOT A "BEER RUN". Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited while participating in this event. However, after you've finished the race, we highly encourage you to enjoy all the brewery's offerings : )
About the Brewery:
Born from the natural springs at the base of our 120-acre preserve called Beer Mountain, we make crisp, clean highly-drinkable beers.
Upward Brewing is a decorated brewery, having received craft beer medals from the NYS Craft Brewers Association and the World Beer Cup.
After the race, taste some taste some delicious beers in their tasting room/bar, have some food from their kitchen, or relax on their patio beer garden while admiring a Catskill Mountains view.
