WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE THE EVENT BECAUSE I BIT OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW, CRASHED, OR MY SOCK DRAWER NEEDS REARRANGING?

NEW for the 2024 events, riders can cancel their chosen registered event for credit to be used for any of the other BWR events. This option is good for up until 2 weeks before your event. This can be done while logged into BikeReg, clicking on your event and making the selection for credit. Any technical issues or questions can be addressed to [email protected] Refunds are available if the event insurance was purchased and have a valid reason for the claim. These questions can also be addressed directly through BikeReg at [email protected] or through the insurance carrier on your registration confirmation. Transfers for category distances example (Waffle to Wafer, Wanna to Waffle, etc.) can be done online while logged into your BikeReg account, clicking on your BWR event you wish to change and completing the category transfer. This can be done online through the Sunday before your event and if after that it can also can done at packet pick up but please allow extra time for that to be completed. There are NO category transfers on the morning of your event, this is too time consuming and riders can pick up their packets as long as there are no changes. To transfer from your original event location and date please login to BikeReg, click on your BWR event you wish to transfer from and scroll to the merchandise portion. There will be a selection for 2023 transfer and click on the event you wish to change to and continue to checkout. Once completed, within a week you will receive a new code to register for your desired event. We do not offer a year to year deferral option from 2023 to 2024.

WHAT IF I AM NOT RECEIVING THE FREQUENT COMMUNICATIONS AND UPDATES IN MY EMAIL?

It seems like many of the email blasts going out are ending up in folders like “spam”, “promotions”, or “junk”. Many times, this can be resolved by searching for those and then allowing access or moving to inbox.

CAN I DO THE EVENT ON MY MOUNTAIN BIKE?

The event is possible on a variety of bicycles including mountain, road (San Diego only), E-Bike, tandem and ElliptiGO—but choose your weapon wisely and a good gravel bike like the Canyon Grizl or Grail is recommended.

WHAT IF I DO NOT LIKE WAFFLES?

Blasphemy! Trick question as even though the Belgian Waffle Ride will make you cringe and suffer, everyone loves waffles!

WHERE CAN I FIND THE ROUTE MAPS?

We do not reveal the routes or until the week before the event in respect for private landowners and areas that are permitted only for that one special day a year. There will be, however, many hints and communications that will give all the information needed to choose the correct equipment and sector info needed for a successful ride. Routes will be available in the expo at registration.

WILL THERE BE FEED ZONES ON COURSE?

YES! The BWR is always very well supported and stocked with stations every 20-miles. This year, we teamed up with F2C Nutrition and they have wonderful fueling options with all the calories and electrolytes you need for race day, which will be available for bottle fills at each aid station: Visit them here: https://www.f2cnutrition.com/ Also, our partner, The Feed supplies our Feed Zones with all sorts of sustenance, like SIS Isotonic Gels, SIS Beta Fuel Gels, Enervit Carbo Bars, Enervit Carbo Chews, and plenty more to you to the finish.

CAN I HAVE MY OWN SUPPORT ON COURSE?

We do have well stocked stations, but many have special dietary needs or may have a personal preference and we understand this. For many reasons we do allow this, but we recommend that this support happen near an existing aid station. We need to ensure all trash or empties are off course and other riders are expecting people to stop around the stations making this the safest option. There will be trash cans avail as well. NO VEHICLE HAND UPS FROM ANY NON-OFFICIAL BWR VEHICLE- AUTOMATIC DQ.

CAN I SWITCH FROM THE WAFER TO THE FULL WAFFLE OR VICE VERSA?

WHAT TIRES ARE BEST FOR EACH ROUTE/EVENT?

Tires are the most important piece of equipment key to having a successful day on the bike. We have worked with our tire partner IRC to provide tire recommendations for each BWR course.

CAN I PICK UP MY NUMBER ON THE MORNING OF THE EVENT?

Official packet pick up is at the BWR UNROAD Expo the day before your ride. We do have early morning for the day of but beware that many miss their start time because of long lines.
