Join us at the Bernie & Leo's Birthday Bash 5K on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Lexington, Fayette, as we celebrate the birthdays of local running legends Bernie Cornett and Leo McMillen. The event will take place at the Coldstream Dog Park/Legacy Trail, featuring a flat and fast course along Lexington's Legacy Trail. Participants will receive commemorative race shirts, enjoy music by DJ James Hummell/Freestyle Entertainment, and celebrate post-race with cake for all. Charity partners Hindman Settlement School and Special Olympics Kentucky have been selected by Bernie and Leo. Packet pickup will be available on Friday, November 29th at Fleet Feet Lexington and on race day at Coldstream Park. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in various age groups. CHARITY PARTNERS We have selected charity partners based on the recommendations of Bernie and Leo. Bernie has selected the Hindman Settlement School [https://hindman.org/about/] which is performing great work in Eastern Kentucky especially related to the recent devastating flooding. Bernie grew up in Hindman, Kentucky. Leo has selected Special Olympics Kentucky [https://soky.org/] as his charity of choice. Special Olympics has been making a difference in our community for many years.
PACKET PICKUP We will hold a packet pickup on Friday, November 29th from 4-7pm at Fleet Feet Lexington at The Summit at Fritz Farm. There will also be race day PPU at Coldstream Park from 7:45-9AM.
AWARDS We will present awards for the Overall Top 3 M/F Finishers as well as Top 3 M/F in 5-year age groups (0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-85 and 86-90.
