Join us for the Bernie & Leo's Birthday Bash 5K on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the beautiful Coldstream Dog Park/Legacy Trail in Lexington, Fayette! This exciting event celebrates the remarkable 87th birthday of Bernie Cornett and the 88th birthday of Leo McMillen, two local running legends who have made a significant impact in the community.
Kick off the festivities at 9 AM with a flat and fast 5K course perfect for runners of all levels. Participants will receive commemorative race shirts in various sizes, and there will be awards for the top finishers across multiple age groups. Enjoy lively entertainment from DJ James Hummell, convenience of ample parking, and the joy of free race photos. After the race, indulge in a delightful post-race birthday celebration featuring cake for all! This year, we're proud to support two deserving charities: the Hindman Settlement School, which is doing vital work in Eastern Kentucky, and Special Olympics Kentucky, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to honor two local heroes while running for a great cause!

Bernie grew up in Hindman, Kentucky. Leo has selected Special Olympics Kentucky [https://soky.org/] as his charity of choice. Special Olympics has been making a difference in our community for many years.
PACKET PICKUP We will hold a packet pickup on Friday, November 29th from 4-7pm at Fleet Feet Lexington at The Summit at Fritz Farm. There will also be race day PPU at Coldstream Park from 7:45-9AM.
AWARDS We will present awards for the Overall Top 3 M/F Finishers as well as Top 3 M/F in 5-year age groups (0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-85 and 86-90.

A fun, untimed run/walk for kids 10 and under. The race is FREE for kids with parents able to purchase a commemorative race shirt for $10. All kids who participate will receive a participation medal. -

If you can't join us in person consider participating from your hometown as a virtual runner/walker. For a $30 donation we'll mail you your race shirt and you can run/walk your 5K from your hometown on your own schedule. Participate from anywhere in the United States! -
